Our safaris are best suited for Intermediate Plus to Experienced Riders.

It is essential that have been riding for many years, that you are well balanced in the saddle and that you are riding fit. You must be confident in controlling a sensible fit horse, at all paces - including a gallop.

Riders will be asked to fill out a form detailing their riding experience before we confirm your spot with us.

We will only accommodate riders of all abilities if a group books out the camp on anexclusive-use basis (this means 8 riders in 4 tents)

Intermediate and beginner riders are welcome to join us on our trail rides at Chundukwa River Lodge.

We require a minimum of 4 guests per group (riders and non-riders may make up this number.)

We can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests in total.

Kindly note we have 4 four tents that can accommodate up to 2 guests per tent.

If your travel party is less than 4 guests - we will do our best to accommodate you with another confirmed party / offer alternative dates. Alternatively, riders may also consider Chundukwa Horse Trails at at Chundukwa River Lodge.

A minimum age of 12 years applies.

Special circumstances may be considered for families with young riders who are taking exclusive-use of the camp.

Kindly advise us if you weigh over 95kg. Doug will be in contact with you to discuss your riding experience, so suitable horses can be selected for you.

It is essential to bring your own riding hat, chaps and gloves. Please contact us for a full list of recommended riding gear and clothing for your stay with us, which may change dependent on the month of your horse safari.

Riders must have a comprehensive medical insurance that includes horse riding and has medical evacuation cover by road and air.
