WHAT TO WEAR ON HORSE SAFARI
Dressing for a riding holiday in Zambia is all about layers due to varying temperatures! Opt for light, cotton clothing in safari or neutral tones – ideal for hot sunny days and blending in with the environment.
Base layers (vests, tshirts, long-sleeved cotton or linen shirt in neutral safari colours)
Mid-layers (gilets, fleece or jumper)
Outer-layers (windbreaker for winter / light raincoat. We provide heavy-duty rain ponchos during the Rainy Season)
Riding Hat, Half Chaps and Riding Boots, Breeches / Jodhpurs and Riding Gloves Light Binoculars, Camera & Charger
Relaxing at Camp
Summer wear and Swimwear (towels are provided)
Walking Shoes and Flip Flops
Hat / Cap and Sunglasses
In the evenings, light long-sleeved shirts and trousers are optimal to keep any mosquitoes at bay all year round Head torch
Personal toiletries (please note that organic shampoo, conditioner and soap is provided that is an environmentally-safe product for our camp)

Late June / July / August / Early Sept
June and July are our winter months – and you may be surprised just how chilly it can get in the bush! Expect min temps down to 6 °C in the very early mornings and in the heat of the day, up to 26°C.
LAYERS will be the order of the day at this time of the year as you will start the day wrapped up, and peel off clothing by the hour!
Late Sept / October / November
In terms of packing – think hot, hot, hot! Expect min temps of around 20°C and in the heat of the day, up to 38°C. October is our peak summer month.
Lightweight, long-sleeve clothing in neutral safari colours to keep the sun at bay will be the order of the day – particularly at the horse safari camp. In the evenings, it will also be warm. We have an eco-pool at the camp, so do bring your swimwear for the horse safari camp.
Late Nov / December / January
This is our Rainy Season – and heavy downpours can happen on our rides.
Daytime will be warm - expect min temps of around 20°C and in the heat of the day, up to 38°C.
When it rains, it can cool down significantly on the same day.
Generally lightweight, long-sleeve clothing in neutral safari colours to keep the sun at bay will be the order of the day – with a warm layers / raincoat (supplied) required at times. Remember to bring your swimwear!
